Looking for something fun to do with your dog this weekend? We have some news for you! The new Raleigh dog park – Jaycee Dog run is officially open!
The New Raleigh Dog Park is Ready For You and Your Dog!
Raleigh has been working on two new additions for our canine pals in the triangle. A full dog park will be built at the Buffalo Road Athletic Park and a dog run at Jaycee Park!
The first of these two projects to be completed is the dog run at Jaycee Park. It officially opens this weekend which means that it’s the perfect weekend for you to check it out!
Located at 2405 Wade Avenue inside the beltline, there are two different entrances to the park. The entrance on Wade Ave is the most convenient for the dog park. The second entrance is on Chamberlain St. and both have parking access. The new Raleigh dog park is tucked behind the ball fields and tennis courts. If you were familiar with the old Jaycee Park, you will find the dog park where the bathroom building used to be, behind the park office building.
Once you’ve parked, unload your pup and head on to the dog park entrance. The dog run is a quarter of an acre. There is no separate section for big and small dogs but it’s still a nice play space. There are plenty of benches under the shade of trees where you can sit watching your pup play with their friends. The run also offers a dog waste station to make cleanup a breeze!
When you drop by the new Raleigh dog park, though, keep in mind that they have yet to finish the dog fountain. What does that mean? It means that you need to bring along plenty of water for you and your pup!
